This policy explains what personal information Carew Enterprises LLC, doing business as Darkspace Press (“we,” “us”), collects through darkspace.press, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our games site, games.darkspace.press, has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

  • Orders: your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, the items you buy, and any notes or autograph instructions you give us.
  • Payment information: card details are entered directly with our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Accounts: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Newsletter and giveaways: your email address (and name, if you provide it) when you sign up for our newsletter or enter a giveaway.
  • Patreon login: if you connect your Patreon account, your Patreon user ID and membership level, so we can unlock patron content.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email or through forms on the site.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected through server logs, security tools, and cookies.

How we use it

  • To process, ship, and support your orders, including returns and refunds.
  • To deliver ebooks and audiobooks you purchase.
  • To send order and account emails.
  • To send our newsletter, only if you have subscribed. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
  • To meet our tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only what each one needs:

  • Payments and fraud prevention: WooPayments (powered by Stripe) and PayPal, including their fraud-detection tools.
  • Shipping: USPS, UPS, and our shipping-label services receive your name, shipping address, and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Merchandise fulfillment: Printify and its print partners receive your name and shipping address for made-to-order merchandise.
  • Ebook and audiobook delivery: BookFunnel receives your name and email address to deliver digital purchases.
  • Email: MailerLite (newsletter) and Brevo (order and account emails).
  • Membership: Patreon, if you choose to connect your Patreon account.
  • Hosting, security, and site services: GoDaddy (hosting), Wordfence (security), Akismet (spam filtering), WooCommerce/Automattic (store platform services), and Google Fonts (which receives your IP address when fonts load).

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, or to a buyer if the business is ever sold.

Cookies

We use cookies needed for the site to work, such as keeping your cart, keeping you logged in, and processing payments securely. Our payment, security, newsletter, and hosting providers may also set cookies for fraud prevention, security, and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.

How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes, generally seven years. Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing email, by contacting orders@darkspace.press. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, in California, the EU, or the UK), and we will honor those requests as required. We may need to keep some order information to meet legal obligations.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and reputable service providers, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
